3.8. Газораспределительный a belt and asterisks - removal, check and installation

Attention! Do not try to rotate a cranked shaft by means of a bolt located on an asterisk of a cranked shaft, do not rotate a cranked shaft counter-clockwise and as do not rotate a cranked shaft after you have removed газораспределительный a belt.

1. Establish piston N1 in the top dead point.

2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the accumulator.

3. Remove the air filter and hoses concerning it.

4. Put the car on a manual brake and block  back  wheels.  Поддомкратьте  a forward part of the car, also fix it on the support established under axes.

5. Remove the left fastening of the engine. Attention! The engine should lean against a rack established under the oil pallet.

6. Ослабьте bolts of a pulley of the water pump also remove приводные belts.

7. Unscrew and remove a pulley of the water pump

8. Unscrew bolts, крепящие the top cover газораспределительного a belt (7.8а, 7.8б, 7.8в, 7.8г, 7.8д) and remove a cover. Unscrew bolts, крепящие the bottom cover, and remove it.

7.9 If you are going to use газораспределительный a belt repeatedly, draw on it an arrow specifying a direction of rotation (clockwise)

9. If you are going to use газораспределительный a belt repeatedly, draw on it an arrow specifying a rotation direction (clockwise) (7.9).

7.10а Ослабьте a bolt натяжителя (it is specified by an arrow) and shift натяжитель towards the water pump (1,5)

10. In 8 cylinder engines ослабьте an adjusting bolt also shift натяжитель газораспределительного a belt against the stop towards the water pump (7.10а, 7.10б, 7.10в). Temporarily fix натяжитель in such position, having tightened a bolt. In 16 клапанных engines, unscrew and remove натяжитель, ослабьте a lever bolt натяжителя so that the lever has freely hung (7.10в).

7.11 Unscrew the central bolt of a pulley of a cranked shaft (1,5)

11. Unscrew the big central bolt from a pulley of a cranked shaft (7.11).

7.12 Insert a screw-driver between a flywheel teeth to prevent rotation of a cranked shaft.

12. If you cannot unscrew a bolt of that at you the key slides off, stop a cranked shaft, having inserted a screw-driver between a teeth of a flywheel (7.12). To make it, you should remove a flywheel cover at first.

13. Be convinced, that bolts натяжителя are weakened, and remove газораспределительный a belt.

7.14 That the asterisk did not rotate, while you unscrew a bolt, stop it, having inserted a screw-driver in one of apertures. The screw-driver tip should rest against a lining (it is specified by an arrow) not to damage a head of cylinders (1,5)

14. If you wish to remove a camshaft, unscrew a bolt of an asterisk of a camshaft and remove an asterisk. That the asterisk did not rotate, while you unscrew a bolt, stop it, having inserted a screw-driver in one of apertures (7.14). Remove as an asterisk of the oil pump and check up a pump epiploon on presence of damages or leak.

7.15а Unscrew bolts of a pulley of a cranked shaft (are specified by arrows) (2,0)

15. If you wish to replace a forward epiploon of a cranked shaft, unscrew four bolts of a pulley of a cranked shaft and remove a pulley (7.15а). Remove an asterisk of a cranked shaft and directing flange газораспределительного  a belt  (7.15б),  located for an asterisk  (remember  a correct  arrangement of a flange).

7.16 Use a screw-driver to stop a silent shaft 1. A screw-driver (8 mm) 2. A silent shaft 3. The block of cylinders

16. In engines in volume of 1,8 l, 2,0 l, 2,4 l get заглушку on a left-hand side of the block of cylinders and insert a screw-driver to stop a silent shaft (7.16).

17.  Ослабьте a bolt, крепящий an asterisk of a silent shaft.

18. Ослабьте натяжитель also remove a belt of a silent shaft (7.8в)

7.19 Повращайте a pulley натяжителя a hand also move it here and there whether to check up заедает a pulley, and whether there is no excessively free course (1,5).

20.   Examine  газораспределительный  a belt (7.20) on presence of cracks, deterioration, the stratification, an absent teeth and pollution by oil. Replace a belt if you doubt its suitability.

21. Establish on asterisk places газораспределительного a belt if you removed them. Before to put on an asterisk of a cranked shaft, put on directing flange (7.8б, 7.8в, 7.8г).

7.22а Combine a pin on an asterisk of a cranked shaft with a label on the oil pump (are specified by arrows) (1,5).

22. Combine synchronising labels on asterisks of a camshaft, a cranked shaft and the oil pump with labels on a head of cylinders and on the block of cylinders (7.22а, 7.22б, 7.22в, 7.10в).

23. In engines in volume of 1,8 l, 2,0 l, 2,4 l establish a back belt. Combine синхронизационные labels on everyone their asterisks with labels on the block of cylinders (7.23)

24. After you have established a back belt, be convinced, that the tense party of a belt does not sag (7.24).

25. Check up, that the asterisk centre натяжителя a back belt has been located on the left side from an adjusting bolt (7.24).

7.25а Turn натяжитель clockwise and upwards to pull a belt

Raise натяжитель a finger so that to pull a belt (7.25а, 7.25б) and tighten a bolt натяжителя and a bolt of a silent shaft till the moments of an inhaling specified in technical characteristics. The belt deviation should be in a range of 5,0-7,0 mm.

7.26 Installation газораспределительного a belt (1,5л)

26.  Put on газораспределительный a belt an asterisk of a cranked shaft. Having pulled a back part of a belt, put on it an asterisk of a camshaft (7.26).

27. In 8 клапанных engines ослабьте a lock bolt натяжителя to pull a belt. Tighten a bolt.

28. Establish a pulley of a cranked shaft, accurately having combined an adjusting pin with a small aperture in a pulley. Insert pulley bolts (fixing bolts and the central bolt) and tighten them till the necessary moments of an inhaling.

7.29 Combination синхронизационных labels of an asterisk of a camshaft

29. Turn a cranked shaft on two full turns. Check up combination синхронизационных labels (7.29). If labels are not combined, ослабьте натяжитель, remove a belt from a camshaft asterisk, combine labels, establish a belt into place and again check up labels.

30. In engines in volume of 1,5 litres, check up a belt tension , having pressed on it. The belt should deviate no more than for the one fourth width of a head of an adjusting bolt (7.30а). If a belt will pull too strongly or poorly, ослабьте bolts натяжителя and adjust a belt tension. In engines in volume of 1,8 l, 2,0 l (8 клапанный), 2,4 l and 1,6 l press a belt to a cover (7.30б) and measure distance between a belt and S.Rasstojanie's line should make approximately 14 mm for engines in volume of 1,8 l, 2,0 l (8 клапанный), 2,4 l. In engines in volume of 1,6 l the distance should be 6 mm.

31. Tighten bolts натяжителя till the necessary moment of an inhaling.

7.32 Insert bolts into a cover газораспределительного a belt (engines in volume 1,5) Diameter of a carving х Length (mm) 1.6x18 2.6x38 3 6x18

32.   Establish  on  places  the remained  details. Consider, that cover bolts газораспределительного a belt of different length (7.32).

33. Get the engine and spend road check of the car.

34. Perform the operations described in points 1-5.

35. Remove a clip of a hose of the hydraulic booster of a steering and a clip of a hose of the air conditioner.

36. Remove приводные belts and a pulley arm натяжителя.

37 Remove a pulley of the water pump.

38. Remove a pulley of a cranked shaft. Unscrew bolts from a pulley of a cranked shaft (7.11) If you cannot unscrew a bolt for the reason that at you the key slides off, stop a cranked shaft, having inserted a screw-driver between a teeth of a flywheel (7.12).

39. Unscrew fixing bolts of the top and bottom covers газораспределительного a belt and remove covers.

40. Remove a cover of valves.

41. Remove automatic натяжитель (7.41).

42. If you are going to reuse a belt, make on it a label specifying a direction of rotation (7.9). Remove газораспределительный a belt, the lever натяжителя and a pulley (7.41).

43. Unscrew bolts and remove asterisks of camshafts.

44 Get a stopper in a lateral part of the block of cylinders and block a shaft, having inserted in an aperture a screw-driver. Unscrew a nut of an asterisk of the oil pump and remove an asterisk.

45. In the engine 4G32 DOHC remove a back belt. Before to remove a belt be convinced, that синхронизационные labels are combined correctly (7.45).

46. Повращайте a pulley натяжителя a hand also move it here and there whether to check up заедает a pulley, and whether there is no excessively free course. Examine asterisks on presence of deterioration and damages. If necessary spend replacement.

47.   Examine  газораспределительный  a belt (7.20) on presence of cracks, stratifications, the deterioration, an absent teeth and pollution by oil. If necessary replace belts.

48. Examine натяжитель on presence of leaks and obvious damages. Examine a rod on presence of deterioration and damages. Measure a rod ledge, it should act on 12 mm from the case натяжителя.

49. Clamp натяжитель in a vice. Check up a rod condition. If necessary replace натяжитель.

50. Establish asterisks on places if you removed them. Tighten bolts till the necessary moments of an inhaling.

51. Combine синхронизационные the labels located on asterisks of a camshaft, a cranked shaft and the oil pump (7.51).

52. In engines 4G32 DOHC establish газораспределительный a belt. Establish and adjust a back belt, the belt deviation should be in limits of 5,0-7,0 mm.

53. Prepare for installation automatic натяжитель. If the rod натяжителя completely acts, clamp натяжитель in a vice and slowly press a rod inside. Press a rod until then while the aperture in it will not be combined with an aperture in the case натяжителя. Insert into apertures a wire slice to block a rod in such position.

54. Insert automatic натяжитель into place.

55. Establish a pulley натяжителя on the lever. Tighten fingers  the central bolt, two small apertures in муфте a pulley should be located on the left side from the central bolt.

56. Turn two asterisks of a cranked shaft so that adjusting pins have been located on top (7.51). Combine синхронизационные labels with the top surface of a head of cylinders.

57. Combine синхронизационные labels of asterisks of a cranked shaft and the oil pump with labels corresponding to them on the block of cylinders (7.51).

58. Get заглушку in a lateral part of the block of cylinders and insert into an aperture a long screw-driver (7.16). If the screw-driver does not come more deeply, than 62 mm, mean it, that labels are combined correctly. If the screw-driver does not enter more deeply 25 mm it is necessary to adjust an asterisk of the oil pump.

59. Installation газораспределительного a belt:

And. Pass a belt through a pulley натяжителя and put on an asterisk of a cranked shaft.

60. Adjust a tension газораспределительного a belt:

And. Turn a cranked shaft on the one fourth turn counter-clockwise, and then clockwise to establish piston N1 in the top dead point.

7.60 Use the special tool to make necessary effort to натяжителю

 Twist special tool NMD998738 in the left arm of the engine while the tool tip will not concern the lever натяжителя. Continue to twist the tool until pressure on automatic натяжитель not ослабнет. Get a delay which has been inserted in натяжитель. Alternatively you can press on a pulley натяжителя so that to compress a rod натяжителя, and then to get a delay.

61. If the length of an acting part of a rod does not get to a demanded range, spend repeated adjustment of a belt.

62. Establish belt covers.

63. Establish on places the remained details.
